This is a special post about an inspiring conference called , "She Speaks" by the wonderful ladies over at Proverb 31 Ministries ( Although this conference is specified for women, gentlemen read on because you can give this info to a woman who is purposed for speaking and writing through God's inspiration. The conference will be held July 22-24, 2011. There are three sections that they focus on during the conference: She Speaks, She Writes and She Leads. Women have been (and still are) utilized by the Most High to speak humility and love, write messages of grace and mercy and to lead the lost through examples of strength and kindness. This conference helps those women who believe they are called to fore front to hone those gifts and tap into their inner power.

They are also offering a Cecil Murphy Scholarship and I would like to become one of the recipients. There's a saying that goes along the lines of, "if I have done great things it's because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." I put my on twist on it, but that is true of my life. I am standing on the shoulders of my mother, grandmothers, mentors and young girls that I mentor. I believe God has purposed me to be a voice for those who cannot speak and those who have spoken only to have their voices muted out by hatred, loss of identity and violence. I would like the opportunity to use my voice to be a vessel for God, that is why I want this scholarship. I want to have Proverbs 31 Ministries be another source to elevate higher!

Below is the link for the She Speaks Conference as well as the scholarship contest post, I urge you to let go of fear and consider attending this conference. I'll be there!!!

I don't like when people say their day is "alright", "okay" "long" or "eh." Remember family, how your day goes depends on you! How you react to people and situations depends on you. Your attitude is controlled by your prospective. Try looking at the day's events from a peaceful and flexible prospective. You'll be surprised at how your day unfolds!

1) GET UP! NO SULKING! This can be hard, but remember everyone doesn't get this opportunity to wake up and shine.

2) SAY "THANK YOU!" Nothing gives energy like gratitude! The Most High woke you up today for a reason. Which is evidence that you have meaning and purpose.

3) SMILE!!! Remember tip #2?! Yes, you deserve to be here to get it right. When you smile, it triggers the happy feelings on the inside, thus recycling your awesomeness. :)

4) ATTITUDE! What kind of vibe are you giving out as you go into the world? Okay, so you hate your job...change it! Yea, it is that simple.

5) GIVE. Giving fuels the energy cycle. Pass your energy on through your talents, time and money. We're all here to be prepared to be someone's angel at any given time.

Your heart, my love.

Hi, In Betweener! You were on my mind today! I was talking to my mother about this audio book I listened to called The Magic of Thinking Big by David Joseph Schwartz. I highly recommend this book, by the way. Anyhow, as she and I were talking I realized something about myself: I've been thinking small and even when I THINK I'm thinking big, I'm still thinking small! The conclusion, some of the people around me are small thinkers. Yes, even some people I love

My mommy talked about how she always wanted to do great things such as travel to various countries for animal research, specifically marine biology. I thought to myself, "Wow that's where I get my sense of adventure and free-spirit from!" LOL! But notice something...she was speaking in past tense...she's not living in her passion right now. She's doing something she has an affinity for and that's helping people, but my mother GLOWS when it comes down to animals. But along the way, life happened i.e. marriage, me and my sisters. She doesn't regret those blessings, but she was surrounded by small thinkers who may have shot down her big thoughts. Fortunately, my mother removed herself from the negativity and is now in school, thinking bigger than ever! :)

I said that to say this: Life will happen but we need to make sure that we're not listening to haters and other small thinkers. Who you surround yourself with really does. You have to guard your mind from negativity. Another thing, understand that you CAN NOT share your goals, dreams and visions with everyone. I've done this trusting that I will receive sound support and I was disappointed. Choose your "Master Mind" group wisely. These are the people who are advisers, colleagues and friends active in progression, idea conception and execution. Everyone in your circle should have such a desire to elevate that it's electrifying! DREAM big, THINK even bigger and DO great things!

What are YOU doing here?

Hey Hey In Betweeners!! I've missed you! I've been off teaching workshops and traveling unbeaten paths! But I'm back now and I want to share something with you...

What are YOU doing here? No seriously, why are you here? Who invited you to this party that's being thrown by Life? You maybe laughing but I'm asking you a serious question. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?

I honestly believe that one of the worse things we can do at this point in our lives is to ignore why we're here. When you were created, you were made with specificity and love. You were also sent here with a purpose. There was also a "manual" embedded in you. Think about that. Everything you need to know about you is in a manual within your spirit! WHAT?!? Yes, right there within you. But here's the tricky part: connecting with your true self. I'm calling that your spirituality.

You ever tried something new or helped someone and it was so organic that you weren't giving much energy to thought? I believe those are our jolts of energy to connect the conscious mind with your spirit (or subconscious mind). Talking to yourself is another way to connect. Although we joke about answering ourselves, we actually our actions. Have you noticed that when you are doing something that doesn't speak true to you, your overall being changes? I'm not talking about doing homework, visiting in-laws or double dating with a friend just so that they're comfortable, I mean making a move that doesn't speak to your true self. I'm talking about working in a career that you hate. I'm talking about dating someone that you KNOW doesn't match your energy but you date them because you're "lonely." This also goes for getting into business relationships that don't represent your values, but you do it for the money.

SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!? What's your purpose? I define purpose as using your God-given talents and gifts to cultivate, enrich, uplift and evoke change in people and the world around you. Your purpose is so great! And I also believe we have more than one purpose. We were made to be multifaceted.WOW! I posted a thought I had on Facebook that read, "Be prepared to be an angel today. You never know when you're needed to be a vessel." Do you agree??

Queen, how do I find my purpose?
My best advice, and this is what I used as a guide, go back to being a kid. What did you love as a child? Children are in such a pure state with imaginations beyond anything we can fathom. Unfortunately, as we get older, we lose that imagination...go find your little Superhero or your Princess Awesomeness. :)

Also, write it down...I'm guilty of not doing this but writing down your vision, gives your purpose clarity.
Tackle your fear!! Until you do this, you're taking away from your purpose-filled life. Man, don't you want to just go out into the world looking for the opportunity to do acts of greatness? Who wants to just clock in and out, occasionally go to dinner or a movie, spend majority of your time planning your two week vacation for the year (out of 365 days, sheesh!), oh and collect debt. All of that to be followed by dying! Two of my mentors, Trina and Kim, call that "living on the surface" and those that participate in this lifestyle are "the living dead." How morbid. That's not you. You're "in between" not crossing over! LOL! LIVE THEN! And do it with zest!

Your heart, my love.

Dont' Hate Your Money, Love Your Money!

Happy New Year, In Betweeners!!

By the end of 2011, one of the goals I'd like for us all to reach is having an abundance of CONSISTENT income!! But why is that we struggle with keeping it in our pockets? Why are we still in debt? Why are we frustrated with money?

It's like being in an unhealthy relationship with a person. Despite the mistreatment and stress from both parties, you feel as if you can't live without them. One person runs, the other person apologizes BLAH BLAH BLAH! It gets old rather quickly, wouldn't you agree? Well apply that to your relationship with money! You mistreat it, spend it on miscellaneous stuff, you don't put it in a safe place where it can grow (savings) and then you expect it to stay AND be good to you?? HA!! Think again! It's time to sit down with your money, look it in the eye and say, "Money, honey, I need to work on myself. I love you enough to spend you in the right places, to give you room to grow and to give you away to others in need because in some form or another you will always come back to me."

Ahh...didn't that feel good?!? LOL! I know it did! Let's not only start 2011 like this, but the let's make a healthy relationship with our money a life long habit...we'll love ourselves 20 years from now! Peace, Prosperity and Progression,
The Queen :)

P.S. Leave your comments or questions and we'll discuss!! Remember we're in this together....

Hi my name is Karmen. I'm 24 years old and for the first time in my life, I feel as if I'm in the "in between" stage. What's the "in between" stage, you ask? For me, I'm not a girl but I don't consider myself a full fledged woman. I'm not a wife or a mother yet. I don't have my own business, yet or any other thing that would place me in a specific group.
At first, this bothered me, but then I thought to myself, "who are you then? What makes you so different?" So far, at 24, this is what I've come up with: I am a daughter who believes making her parents proud is the greatest way I can repay them, yet I will live my life on my own terms and according to my God-given purpose. I am a sister who will die for my younger siblings and I want them to grow in life knowing that they can look to me to give some guidance and to bail them out when they can't tell our parents. I am a friend, and I want my true friends to know that I'll always be loyal, honest and present. But more importantly, I am royal because I am birthed from the Creator on purpose and with purpose!
And right now, I'm just in between all aspects of my life and I think it's awesome! I'm having fun and as I transition into more "concrete" areas of my life, I'll share them with you. What I want you to know about me is that I'm like water, on the surface I'm flexible and willing to move to and around whatever may come. But over time, you see that I carry a power within me that can reshape the Earth! Welcome, and I'm so glad you're on this journey with me!
